LatchOn Lactation Consulting

Lactation support close to home

McCall Conkling, RN, IBCLC, sees Westminster and Arvada families at Peak Pediatrics in nearby Thornton, just minutes from either community.

Westminster and Arvada families have a lot of options when it comes to pediatric care, but finding a dedicated, board-certified lactation consultant nearby is not as easy. McCall is right up the road at Peak Pediatrics in Thornton, which means you can get expert breastfeeding support without a long drive across the metro.

Many families in these communities deliver at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Good Samaritan in Lafayette, or one of the UCHealth campuses along the 36 corridor. The hospital stay goes fast, and the lactation help you get there is usually limited to a quick check before discharge. By the time you are home and feeding every two hours, the questions and frustrations start building.

That is exactly when McCall steps in. She sees families as early as the first week home, and every visit is a full 60 minutes of focused, one-on-one care. She is not rushing through a checklist. She is sitting with you, observing a full feeding, measuring how much milk your baby is transferring, and troubleshooting the specific challenges you are facing. You leave with a clear plan and the confidence to execute it.

What to expect from your consultation

Full Infant Assessment

McCall evaluates your baby's oral anatomy, muscle tone, and feeding reflexes to understand the full picture before making recommendations.

Latch Correction

If feeding hurts, something is off. McCall works hands-on with you and baby to find a latch that is comfortable and efficient for both of you.

Weighted Feed Measurement

Clinical-grade scales tell you exactly how much milk your baby is getting during a feeding. Real numbers instead of worry.

Supply Assessment

Low supply concerns are one of the top reasons families visit. McCall evaluates what is actually happening and builds a plan to address it.

Pumping & Bottle Transition

Whether you are heading back to work or supplementing, McCall helps you navigate pumping schedules, bottle introduction, and maintaining your supply.

Telehealth Follow-Ups

After your in-person visit, $75 telehealth appointments are available for follow-up care, progress checks, and ongoing troubleshooting.

Insurance accepted, no referral needed

LatchOn accepts Cigna, Aetna, United, and Medicaid. Many Westminster and Arvada families have their consultations fully covered. A 60-minute visit is $150.
