Denver, Colorado
Expert lactation support for Denver families
McCall Conkling, RN, IBCLC, provides in-person breastfeeding consultations just north of Denver at Peak Pediatrics in Thornton, with telehealth available statewide.
Denver has no shortage of resources for new parents, but when it comes to breastfeeding, finding someone who will sit with you for a full hour, listen to your concerns, and actually help you fix the problem is harder than it should be. That is what McCall does.
Her office at Peak Pediatrics in Thornton is a quick drive from north Denver, Highlands, Berkley, and the I-25 corridor. Many Denver families who deliver at St. Joseph, Rose Medical Center, or Denver Health find their way to McCall in that first exhausting week when hospital support has ended and the reality of feeding around the clock has set in.
Every consultation is a full 60 minutes. McCall starts with a complete infant assessment, observes a feeding, takes a weighted feed measurement so you know exactly how much milk your baby is getting, and then works with you hands-on. You leave with a personalized plan, not a handout. And she follows up, because breastfeeding does not stop being hard after one visit.
If you cannot make it to the office, telehealth follow-ups are available for $75 from anywhere in Colorado. These work well for check-ins on supply, pumping schedules, or troubleshooting after an initial in-person visit.
How McCall supports Denver families
Latch Assessment & Correction
Pain during feeding is not normal and it is not something you should push through. McCall identifies the root cause and works with you until feeding is comfortable for both you and baby.
Weighted Feeds
Clinical-grade scales measure exactly how much milk your baby takes during a feeding. No more guessing, no more anxiety about whether they are getting enough.
Low Supply Evaluation
McCall looks at the full picture, from latch efficiency to feeding frequency to medical factors, and builds a realistic plan to protect and improve your supply.
Pumping & Return-to-Work Plans
Denver is full of working parents. McCall helps you build a pumping schedule, choose the right pump setup, and create a freezer stash strategy before your leave ends.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Education
Expecting parents can schedule a prenatal consultation to learn what to expect, how to prepare, and what supplies actually matter versus what is just marketing.
Telehealth Consultations
Follow-up visits available via video for $75. Ideal for ongoing support, quick troubleshooting, or families who need expert guidance but cannot make it to the office.
Insurance accepted, no referral needed
LatchOn accepts Cigna, Aetna, United, and Medicaid. Many Denver families have their visits fully covered by insurance. A 60-minute consultation is $150.
