Volunteer

We currently seek people to fill the following roles:

1. Marketing Manager

Are you a great communicator? Do you enjoy persuasive writing? Our marketplace needs a marketing manager with strong writing skills and creative ideas. A background in marketing essential.

Part-time volunteer position; expenses reimbursed
Term: minimum of six months
Location: anywhere with regular Internet access
Reports to: Managing Director

Responsibilities include: 

• identify and recommend specific marketing opportunities;
• develop a marketing strategy;
• report marketing outcomes to Managing Director.
• watch the broader market for marketing opportunities (and work toward bring them to life);
• communicate with volunteers about how they can assist in marketing.

2. LatchOn Project Authenticators and Mentors (several positions available)

Inquisitive, creative and interested in helping others succeed? This job requires people who have access to both the telephone and Internet who can work with project managers from the time they submit a project, through the time when their project is funded. In the earliest stages, people in these positions will verify that project managers are who they say they are and a project is real. This can require many hours of time or only a few hours, depending on the number of projects and the relationship the project manager has to others in our marketplace. Over time, the responsibilities grow commensurate with the scope of the project and the skills of the project manager to market projects.

Part-time volunteer position; expenses reimbursed
Term: Minimum of three months
Location: anywhere with regular Internet access
Reports to: Managing Director

• able to access the Internet and e-mail on a regular basis (more than twice a week);
• knowledgeable about proposal development;
• knowledgeable about how the LatchOn marketplace functions;
• interested in working with and encouraging project managers.

Responsibilities include:

• responding to inquiries from project managers by e-mail in a timely manner;
• offering suggestions to improve project descriptions;
• checking details of project manager, location of project;
• connecting with other authenticators, volunteer manager and fiscal sponsors;
• following the progress of the project and help when needed;
• referring inquiries to a person who can deal with the issue.

3. Thankers (several positions available, fluency in several languages welcome)

This job entails hand writing Thank You notes to donors. The name and address of a donor will be sent to you, with an appropriate time frame in which this task needs to be done. You will be supplied with stationary. Good penmanship and command of the language you will be writing in is required. You will be able to decide for yourself how many notes you will be able to commit writing in a period of time.
